Last year in sales and use tax, Harrisburg collected 2.8 million dollars. Adding more business will increase these funds that help offset taxes to our residents. I have a vision to champion an effort to educate citizens and encourage the Town of Harrisburg and Cabarrus County to work together to achieve a overall Commercial/Residential balance for Harrisburg. Essentially, the goal would be to preserve something like one acre of industrial/commercial property to offset the creation of every two acres of residential. This goal will be difficult to realize fully, but the target will ensure the quality if life that makes Harrisburg one of the most desired places to reside in North Carolina.
